Philippine telecom Globe sets up shop in Tokyo

MANILA -- Philippines-based Globe Telecom has opened offices in Tokyo to provide services to the roughly 180,000 Filipinos living in Japan.

Japan has seen a rise in Filipino English-language teachers in recent years. More Philippine nationals are expected to come to Japan to take jobs as housekeepers in specially designated deregulation zones. Globe seeks to capture demand from expatriates wanting to keep in touch with their home country.
