Putting AI to work in the human resources department

TOKYO -- Technology and innovation are pushing their way into sectors once thought of as "analog," with finance and education attracting particular attention recently. Now, hot on the heels of fintech and edtech, human resource management is being transformed.

Although personnel departments have long struggled to make their work more about objective measures of performance, much of the worker evaluation process remains seat-of-the-pants. HR tech, as it is called, may one day take much of the guesswork out of rating prospective and current employees.
