SYDNEY -- Imbued with the ancient traditions, creativity and spirituality of Australia's Indigenous people, Aboriginal art is captivating people across the country and beyond. In recent years, mainstream retailers have embraced Aboriginal art, a sign of the growing appreciation for its cultural influence beyond the usual art aficionados and historians.

In early April, Kmart, a retail chain operating under Australian conglomerate Wesfarmers, launched a new line of products in collaboration with Indigenous artist Kyralee Shields that blends traditional designs with modern sensibilities.
