JAKARTA -- Large-scale outlet malls are opening in Indonesia as both local and international players tap a growing appetite for designer brands among the world's fourth-largest population.

In Karawang, an industrial hub 40 kilometers from central Jakarta, the nearly 90,000 sq. meter Grand Outlet has slowly been coming to life since December.
