TOKYO -- The parent company of Japanese discount chain Don Quijote aims to expand its overseas stores more than 30% by 2025, with new locations in the U.S. and elsewhere to capture the inflation-induced demand for bargains.

Pan Pacific International Holdings had 105 stores outside Japan as of the fiscal year ended June 2023. The plan is to expand that number to 142 by the year ending June 2025.
