MANILA -- Japanese furniture retailer Nitori Holdings has racked up unexpectedly large sales at its nascent business in the Philippines, a senior executive at the company told Nikkei, as it pushes deeper into overseas markets.
The chain, which has outlets dotted around Japan selling everything from beds and desks to sheets and crockery, started its first store in the Philippines earlier this year as it drives for growth beyond its home operations.
