SINGAPORE -- Despite economic challenges, Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur is seeing a boom in huge shopping malls, with The Exchange TRX opening in November and more to come next year.
The new mall, part of the financial district development project, is attracting customers with popular brands and a rooftop park but faces fierce competition from other malls in the area. Another large mall is expected to open nearby in 2024, fueling competition between malls amid concerns over inflation and a nationwide economic slowdown.
