MANILA -- The Ministop convenience store chain in the Philippines is set for a rebranding after the local owner agreed to buy out its Japanese partner.

In February, a unit of Robinsons Retail Holdings will acquire the 40% stake of Ministop Co. Ltd. (Ministop Japan) in Robinsons Convenience Stores, the exclusive franchisee of Ministop in the Philippines. Robinsons Retail will take full ownership of the chain's local franchise.
