TOKYO -- Showfields, a New York-based department store that calls itself "the most interesting store in the world," will soon set up shop in Japan, bringing a crosssover retail concept that blends online and brick-and-mortar experiences.

A small location with a retail floor space of 150 sq. meters to 300 sq. meters will open in the capital as early as summer.
