TOKYO -- Japanese department store operator Takashimaya's president says they will "focus on Vietnam for the time being" as a part of their strategy to increase overseas business, while it sees a domestic growth ceiling amid Japan's population decline.
Yoshio Murata, president of Takashimaya for almost six years now, said, "I aim to increase [operating profit of] Vietnamese business to between 5% and 10% of the group total" during an interview with Nikkei Asia in mid-February.
