TOKYO -- Japanese retailers Don Quijote and Bic Camera plan to open stores geared for foreign tourists in Japan as spending by inbound visitors hits record levels.

Don Quijote parent Pan Pacific International Holdings aims to open its first tourist-focused shop as soon as next year, with plans for seven or eight locations by June 2027 in popular destinations like Tokyo and Osaka.
