TOKYO -- Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo is ramping up its recruitment of future management talent in South and Southeast Asia as it accelerates the development of its store network in the region, the company's human resources chief told Nikkei Asia.

Noriaki Koyama, chief adviser to the CEO of Uniqlo owner Fast Retailing and in charge of its human resource strategy, said in an interview that it is a "practical need" for the company to accelerate recruitment in South and Southeast Asia. "These regions have great potential for future development, and we will be able to find very talented people there," he added.
