SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics on Thursday appointed seven new presidents, with four coming from the prospering semiconductor division.

The appointments are part of a sweeping leadership makeover at the profitable but scandal-tainted South Korean conglomerate. Two days earlier, the company announced three new chief executives to head up the semiconductor, consumer electronics and mobile divisions.
