SINGAPORE -- Singapore Post, the city-state's postal company, said at its annual general meeting on Thursday that it expects to appoint a new chief executive officer by the end of the year to reboot the company toward becoming a global power in the global e-commerce logistics sector.
"The board is well aware that any business without a strong leader for an extended period could lead to a crisis in the business," said Simon Israel, the newly appointed chairman of SingPost, in his debut general meeting. He said the board is giving its "fullest attention" to the CEO search and the company has candidates in the process of due diligence. "We should expect the next group CEO to take up the appointment at the end of the year," Israel added.
