Soccer isn't the only sport beckoning Chinese billionaires

TOKYO China is known for its table tennis prowess, but in terms of popularity, the national sport lags behind many others. According to Japanese advertising agency Hakuhodo's Global Habit report, table tennis ranked only fifth in popularity among residents of Beijing and Guangzhou, and sixth in Shanghai.

Claiming the top spot, unsurprisingly, was soccer, with nearly half of the respondents in the three Chinese cities declaring it their favorite. The No. 2 sport in Shanghai and Beijing, and No. 3 in Guangzhou, was basketball.
