Sony and Google to face off in VR game market

The PlayStation VR headset was released by Sony Interactive Entertainment on Oct. 13.

TOKYO/PALO ALTO, U.S. -- Sony has made its long-awaited first foray into virtual reality gaming with the release of the PlayStation VR headset, hoping to grab a dominant share of global sales.

But virtual reality experiences of a different format may stand in the way of the company making any significant inroads into the new market.
