Sony going after Asian mobile game market in 2018

Popular Japanese app will be rolled out in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau

The Sony group's smartphone game "Sora to Umi no Aida" is unveiled at an event in Tokyo on July 25.

TOKYO -- The Sony group is gearing up to claim a larger slice of the video game market in Asia by adding smartphone game apps to its offerings next year.

Sony unit ForwardWorks will start distributing smartphone games outside Japan in 2018, starting with Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.
