Sony to make PlayStation games for smartphones

TOKYO -- Sony Interactive Entertainment has begun work to make popular PlayStation games available on smartphones in a bid to expand its customer base beyond conventional game consoles.

SIE created ForwardWorks in April to undertake the project. While its name suggests no relationship with Sony and PlayStation, the new subsidiary is headed by Atsushi Morita, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia.
