ISTANBUL -- A consortium led by South Korean companies has won the right to build the world's longest suspension bridge over the Dardanelles in Turkey, beating competitors from Japan, China and elsewhere.
Tokyo had dispatched cabinet members to support the Japanese group's bid. But the South Korean and Turkish consortium, led by companies such as SK group construction unit SK E&C, offered to advance construction with its own funds if need be.
