Spring Airlines' Japan strategy centers on Nagoya area

SHANGHAI -- Shanghai-based budget carrier Spring Airlines is zeroing in on Nagoya area as the centerpiece of its Japan strategy. With a smaller war chest than its state-owned, full-service peers and Japanese competitors, Spring is avoiding crowded markets such as Osaka.

  Instead, it has found a niche in the central Japanese city. Wang Zhenghua, chairman and founder of the company, and its parent, Spring Group, spoke to the Nikkei and other news organizations about his blueprint for the strategic market.
