SINGAPORE -- A Japanese startup that produces food from silkworms plans to sell its products in Singapore as the city-state is expected to allow the import and sale of edible insects this year.
Tokyo-based Morus plans to export and sell powdered silkworms as raw materials to food manufacturers and restaurants, as well as silkworm-based protein powder and protein bars for gyms, marketing them as a new alternative protein source, CEO Ryo Sato told Nikkei Asia.
