SEOUL -- The birthplace of South Korea's modern steel industry is busy transforming itself into a cradle of next-generation businesses thanks to initiatives led separately by Posco, the nation's leading steelmaker, and Apple.
In July, Posco opened CHANGeUP Ground, a startup incubator, in its home city of Pohang, which is known as the "City of Steel." The 83 billion won ($69.8 million) structure nestled inside the Pohang University of Science and Technology (Postech) campus is just a 10-minute drive from the city center.
