TAIPEI -- Investment from Taiwan is flowing to Japan at the fastest pace in a decade as a Taiwanese money seeks an alternative to mainland China for promising tech ventures.

Forty-eight Japanese companies have received investments from Taiwan this year through July, the most since 50 recorded in all of 2014.
