HO CHI MINH CITY -- Vietnam’s first tech unicorn VNG appointed an acting CEO hours after its campus was raided Friday by police in the one-party state, where news of the investigation seems to have been scrubbed from the internet.

Kelly Wong will take on day-to-day operations for Le Hong Minh, co-founder and CEO, “to ensure VNG continues to operate smoothly” while “safeguarding the legal rights and interests of partners, shareholders, and stakeholders,” the Tencent-backed games and payments startup said Friday minutes before midnight.
