Sumitomo Warehouse plans more SE Asian logistics centers

Added capacity would accommodate Japanese businesses in the region

TOKYO -- Sumitomo Warehouse will spend roughly 4 billion yen ($35 million) to build three storage facilities in two Southeast Asian countries, hoping to capture demand from Japanese manufacturers stepping up operations in these markets.

Thailand will house two of the complexes, with Singapore hosting one. The new warehouses will expand the Japanese company's total floor space in the two countries over 30% to 65,000 sq. meters.
