SEOUL -- ASML and Samsung Electronics agreed to invest 1 trillion won ($760 million) to build a research center in Seoul's metropolitan area as the partners look to develop next-generation memory chip equipment that uses extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) technologies.
The South Korean government on Wednesday said the companies signed a memorandum of understanding for the project at ASML's headquarters in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, on Tuesday.
