Infineon says onshoring chip production 'wise' for supply chains

TAIPEI -- Diversifying production is necessary for the chip industry to ensure supply chain resilience and long-term growth, a senior executive with Germany's Infineon Technologies told Nikkei Asia.

Helmut Gassel, chief marketing officer and board member at Infineon, the biggest European chipmaker, said the sheer size of the chip industry has changed the dynamics.
