PALO ALTO, U.S. -- Intel is establishing supply chains outside the U.S. to guard against uncertainties, CEO Pat Gelsinger said, as the chipmaker contends with geopolitical risks like U.S.-China tensions or a Taiwan crisis.

Intel envisions American, European and Asian supply chains, Gelsinger told reporters at the Intel Innovation tech conference in San Jose, California, on Wednesday.
