Japan's chip initiative backed by 80% of corporate leaders: survey

Executives cautiously optimistic on supply chains, Nikkei poll shows

TOKYO -- More than 80% of Japanese business leaders support the government's push to promote domestic production of semiconductors, a Nikkei survey finds.

Respondents to the survey, which targeted about 100 leaders of major companies, agree that the proposed measures would lead to a stable supply.
