TOKYO -- Nvidia alone earned 63% of the combined third-quarter net profit of the world's 10 leading semiconductor companies, QUICK-FactSet data shows, amid growing demand tied to generative artificial intelligence.

Aggregate net profit grew 38% on the year to a three-year high of $30.4 billion, with seven of the 10 companies logging a positive turn in net earnings. Nvidia's August-October net profit more than doubled to $19.3 billion.
