Nvidia unveils new Blackwell chip that makes DeepSeek faster and cheaper

SAN JOSE, California -- Nvidia unveiled its latest AI chip and a new open-source inference software on Tuesday, both aimed at enabling reasoning models like those made popular by Chinese startup DeepSeek.

At Nvidia's GPU Technology Conference (GTC), the company announced the new Blackwell Ultra GPU, which it says provides better AI inferencing performance and energy efficiency than its predecessors and is built for the "age of AI reasoning."
