TOKYO -- Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. (PSMC), a Taiwanese semiconductor contract manufacturer, will build a plant in Japan's northern prefecture of Miyagi, Nikkei has learned.
The new plant will start operations as early as 2026, and contribute to a more stable supply of chips used in a wide range of industries, including automobiles.
