HANOI -- Leading Vietnamese tech company FPT will enter semiconductor back-end processing, where chips are assembled and tested, planning to boost related personnel to 10,000 by 2030, Nikkei has learned.

The massive increase in semiconductor personnel specializing in circuit design and production technology -- a fiftyfold increase from the current 200 -- is expected to help the company develop a business where it not only designs chips, but also takes on tasks from other chip companies and does work at clients' factories.
