TOKYO -- A Japanese company's new web-based service interprets conversations in different languages in nearly real time for display on a screen, letting users avoid pausing after each sentence.
Tokyo-based Pocketalk says the artificial-intelligence-powered software is almost as fast as a simultaneous interpreter. It can help businesses that cater to international tourists, says the company, which also envisions uses in conferences and other settings.
