PALO ALTO, California -- Apple reported a record revenue for the July-September quarter on Thursday, reflecting early signs of the AI-powered iPhone 16's strength. But China sales continued to decline as it remains unclear when the artificial intelligence feature will become available there.

For the three months ended Sept. 28, Apple's total revenue grew 6.1% on the year to $94.9 billion. Its main revenue driver, the iPhone, grew 5.5% to $46.2 billion, a September quarter record.
