TOKYO -- A Japanese manga artist turned lawmaker is calling on artificial intelligence companies to share a slice of their earnings with content creators, amid growing concern over the impact of generative AI on creative industries.
Ken Akamatsu, a member of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party in the upper house, suggested AI companies could, for example, set aside around 1% of their revenue to fund cultural projects.
