BARCELONA, Spain -- The rise of China's DeepSeek and its more efficient AI models will not dent the industry's appetite for higher-spec optical connectivity technologies, according to Ciena, one of the leading providers of such solutions.
Dejan Bilbija, director of sales systems engineering at Ciena, said this is because ultrafast data transmission speeds will still be needed to make generative AI technology as efficient as possible.
