TOKYO -- A Japanese robotics and artificial intelligence startup is seeking to develop artificial intelligence that can deliver "considerate" customer service.

Avatarin, a spin-off from Japanese top aviation company ANA Holdings, plans to launch technology capable of replicating key aspects of Japan's exceptional customer service within three years. It is aimed at sectors such as retail and hospitality that are struggling to maintain standards in the face of growing labor shortages.
