HONG KONG -- India's largest software exporter is seeking expansion in Hong Kong, sensing opportunities after a series of bank layoffs and mounting security concerns over artificial intelligence models such as China's DeepSeek.

Sankaranarayanan Viswanathan, Tata Consultancy Services' vice president and head of business innovation in the corporate technology office, told Nikkei Asia that corporate interest in AI surged after a Chinese startup unveiled DeepSeek. Many clients, however, expressed concerns about data leaks and transparency.
