PALO ALTO, U.S. -- President Joe Biden signed a highly anticipated executive order on artificial intelligence on Monday as the U.S. moves to catch up with other governments in regulating the rapidly developing technology.

The order requires companies to share reports on safety tests of their AI models with the federal government and follows earlier moves by both China and the European Union.
