BEIJING -- The Chinese government has released draft guidelines for certifying the cross-border transfer of personal information, hoping to ease the concerns of foreign businesses wary of operating there by allowing data transfers for companies that meet certain standards.
The Cyberspace Administration of China announced the draft of personal information cross-border transfer and protection certification measures on Friday, and is soliciting opinions from companies and the public until Feb. 3.
