GUANGZHOU -- Chinese state-owned automaker GAC Group said it will set up a humanoid robot demonstration zone this year, aiming to begin mass production of the machines in 2027.
Zhang Aimin, head of GAC's robotics research and development team, revealed the plans Wednesday at a press conference on the robot industry in Guangdong Province. The demonstration zone will be located in the city of Guangzhou. The size of investment was not disclosed.
