SHANGHAI -- A flood of foldable smartphones released by Chinese companies will help boost local display makers' market share in the segment to over 50% this year, according to U.K. market researcher Omdia.
The rapid rise of Chinese display makers in the foldable market underscores the threat to South Korea's Samsung Electronics and its display arm, which are struggling to make inroads in China, as well as to iPhone maker Apple, which has yet to enter the segment.
