Chinese EV demand drives new factory for Japan wire maker

TOKYO -- Japanese wire manufacturer SWCC Showa Holdings will ramp up production of automotive wiring harnesses to meet demand from auto parts makers in China's growing electric-vehicle market.

The company recently started up a plant in China's Zhejiang Province that more than doubles its production capacity for the components.
