TOKYO -- Fanuc is accelerating efforts to bring the Internet of Things to the manufacturing sector, providing data from its platform for connected factories directly to clients to help them improve operations.

Launched in 2017, the Fanuc Intelligent Edge Link & Drive (FIELD) system tracks the use of robots and industrial machinery via sensors and artificial intelligence in order to predict glitches and improve efficiency.
