TAIPEI -- Generative AI will only be able to handle 80% of the manufacturing workload in next-generation factories, while skilled human workers will still be needed for the remaining 20%, according to the chairman of Foxconn.

Speaking in Taipei on Monday, Young Liu, chairman of the world's biggest contract electronics manufacturer, said the findings from an in-house study had come as something of a surprise to Foxconn.
