HONG KONG -- IBM is reportedly moving to shut one research and development center in China and relocate another overseas, as increasing tensions between Beijing and Washington force more American companies to rethink their activities there.

Chinese financial news outlet Yicai reported Monday that IBM's Chinese subsidiary has confirmed plans to shut its R&D operations.
