JAKARTA -- Indonesia has rejected Apple's recent proposal to invest $100 million in the country and kept its ban on iPhone16 sales in the country.

At the heart of the problem is Indonesia's "local content" requirements, and Apple's reluctance to build production facilities in Southeast Asia's largest economy.
