TOKYO -- NTT Docomo will sell lightweight "extended reality" (XR) smart glasses later this year, the Japanese mobile operator said Monday, pursuing growing opportunities in the industrial metaverse.

The Mirza glasses, weighing around 125 grams, are designed to be worn for long periods of time. They can connect to smartphones wirelessly and simulate a multimonitor setup for wearers. They also can transcribe and translate speech in more than 140 spoken languages in real time.
