Japan's Sakura Internet to offer startups affordable AI computing power

TOKYO - Japan's Sakura Internet aims to start selling more affordable computing power for training artificial intelligence as early as this year amid a global scramble to develop generative AI.

Training AI models requires massive amounts of number crunching, and demand for AI chips and servers has pushed prices beyond what many startups can afford.
